The major objective ob the ECWINS will be the development of the "CE-Assessment-Model". This should help to simplify the production of windows with CE-Conformity.
The Input in this model will be a description of the window design and as an output the user will get an CE-performance profile for the different characteristics of his window. With this result the manufacturer can consult a modified body that can assess, if the window is within the application range of the model. The Model will be based on intensive testing of different window types, representing a wide range of windows produced by SMEs in Europe. The research will show the application range of windows for which the performance requirements can be addressed to.
When SMEs manufacture windows within the scope of developed model it will help to minimize physical testing. And secondly this model should help to predict the characteristics, if the construction of the window is changed. So individual window design will become much easier and the SMEs could optimise their windows.
This Model will be the essential project results to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs. It will help to maintain the capability of SMEs to design new individual window types.
